Rebuild Options

This page can help explain some of the options offered with our rebuild services or rebuild kits. Not all of these options will be applicable for all subwoofers. Your individual price quote will explain which options are available for your particular subwoofer.

Additional spider –
Additional spiders add stiffness to the moving assembly of the subwoofer. In high power applications, having a stiffer assembly can help control the voice coil and keep the subwoofer from unloading or traveling further than its capability.

Sewn lead wire –
We offer leadwire in single, dual, triple, or quad lead configurations. Here is a breakdown of approximate leadwire needs per the amount of RMS power supplied by your amplifier: Adding lead wire does not increase the RMS power handling of the subwoofer overall, but using leadwires capable of handling the RMS power of the subwoofer is required for reliable operation.
Single leads – Up to 1500 watts RMS power handling
Dual leads – 1500 to 2500 watts RMS power handling
Triple leads – 2500 to 3500 watts RMS power handling
Quad leads – 3500+ watts RMS power handling

Direct connect wiring –
High-quality cable will be preinstalled, connected securely to the interwoven leadwires on the spider. Using direct connect wiring offers the best connection style, easy wiring changes, and most importantly – the easiest and most reliable connection style when installing a drop-in recone kit. CCA direct connect wiring is suitable for most applications, but we recommend using 100% OFC copper wire for high power applications and SPL competition setups.

HD pulp cone with tall roll surround –
This option increases the height of the surround roll for extra excursion capability. The width of the surround remains the same.

HD pulp cone with mega roll surround –
This is a huge surround, using a much wider and taller roll size. This oversized surround can only be used in certain applications where extreme excursion is needed.

6″ black carbon fiber dome or dish dustcap –
This is our most popular custom dustcap upgrade. A single layer of CF material is resin coated on the rear side. This dustcap has a dry weave appearance from the front. It’s lightweight and strong enough for most daily and SPL applications.

6″-8″ custom colored CF/Kevlar dome or dish dustcap –
This option is a custom hand-made dustcap consisting of a poly layer which is then covered with CF/Kevlar material in your choice of color and size.

Full cone cover dustcap –
Essentially a dustcap that stretches from his to edge of the cone, leaving a clean 1-piece  look. This part can also be colored for a more custom appearance.

Custom colored parts –
We can color coat the basket, cone, or dustcap of your subwoofer via a specialized epoxy coat process. Want a blue basket? Red dustcap? No problem!
We do offer discounted pricing on multiple items.

Custom logo –
We can use your custom logo on your dustcap in either a single or in multiple colors. You can supplies with a file for example idea or we can help you design the logo before it is made.

Rubber coated surround –
The surround can the rubberized to help prevent UV damage, to make the surround more durable, and can also be used in Marine applications to waterproof the front of the subwoofer (along with a full cone cover dustcap).
