Service Request

The way that we accept service request submissions has changed.

After carefully considering the way that this process has worked in the past and evaluating the amount of time spent reading and responding to customer submissions, we have come to the decision that we will require a small fee for our service request submissions.

Why are we doing this? It is because of the fact that a huge number of these submissions are from people who are just “price checking”. Unfortunately, we spent massive amounts of time compiling custom price quotes for customers who never go through with their purchase. The time that we have spent responding to these requests has caused many serious customers to have to wait an extremely long amount of time to receive service from us. This is not fair to serious customers.

Considering this, we are making changes to the way that we receive service requests and the way that we give price quotes for custom rebuilds, drop-in kits, etc. We will now require a minimum of a $5 fee to spend our time to evaluating and compiling custom price quotes. Doing this will ensure that customers who submit service requests through our website are actually serious about having their subwoofer rebuilt, and not just “seeing what it will cost”.

When responding to a service request from our customers, we generally spend a considerable amount of time to research the exact subwoofer that they have, to evaluate their stereo system and the components used for the system, and their overall goals for their subwoofer and system. We then take the time to respond with our minimum price for their product or rebuild, as well as providing our recommendation for any additional upgrades or additional parts that would offer them the maximum benefit to meet their goals. We also offer a list of additional options such as upgraded parts, custom-made parts with different materials, custom colors, custom logos, etc. It takes a lot of time to respond to each submission with this amount of detail, and over the past decade of supplying these custom quotes, we have unfortunately just taken too much time to do this without ever hearing back from a large portion of these customers.

How will this work?

Service requests will be listed as products in our web store, and to make your submission, you will need to first purchase a service request.

A Standard Service Request will cost $5. This payment will be nonrefundable. If you don’t use our services, you will have paid us $5 to spend our time to consider your submission and to provide you with a detailed response outlining all the possibilities for your repair or customization needs with a detailed price list.

An Expedited Service Request will cost $30 and will ensure that you receive a response from us within 48 hours. 50% of this payment will be applied toward your purchase of a rebuild kit, having work done at our shop, or to your purchase of parts from our web store. If you don’t use our services, we will issue you a $15 credit to the store and you will have paid us $15 for an immediate response to your request and to have spent our time to consider your submission and to provide you with a detailed response outlining all the possibilities for your repair or customization needs with a detailed price list.

What if you just want to get an estimate?

We have developed a calculator that can help you get an estimated price of what it may cost to rebuild your subwoofer as long as you can supply information about the parts used in your subwoofer. If you don’t know the answers to all of the questions, you could still possibly get a general idea. If you come up with your own estimate and feel as if you’d like to move forward, you can then submit a service request and supply information about your subwoofer and installation and then we will respond to you with the exact price and any available or recommended upgrades and additional parts.

We will no longer be accepting service requests via Facebook or Instagram.

We spend a lot of time trying to sort through messages sent from all over all over the Internet. People submit service requests, send Facebook messages, send Instagram messages, and also send regular emails to our email address. We receive multiple copies of the same exact thing in different locations. We get so many that it’s not possible for us to notice that we’ve responded multiple times to the same exact person. Being contacted in multiple ways is killing our response time. In the future, if you request a price via social media or through a standard email, we will just link you to this page so that you can read it and understand why we will not respond with pricing through those types of messages.
